Welcome to the final post in this year’s A DIY Christmas series. Next week I will be featuring some wrapping ideas to go along with all of these gifts. This final gift idea is for the guys (or beer loving gals). You have probably been to a bar where they have a bottle opener mounted to the wall for easy bottle opening. What beer loving guy or gal wouldn’t love something like this next the their grill for summer parties?
DIY Wall Mounted Bottle Opener
The main item of this DIY gift is the Cast Iron OPEN HERE bottle opener, Amazon has a few other options if this color doesn’t fit within the desired home decor theme. I like the cast iron for the rustic look that it gives.
For the bottle catcher, I used a galvanized metal bucket spray-painted with Oil Rubbed Bronze. I removed my handle and used one of the handle holes to screw it into the back plate. if you would like to keep the handles then use a cup hook to hold it on the back plate.
This back-plate is a piece of 1×4 Hemlock cut to roughly 12″ long and painted with Martha Stewart Wild Blueberry Acrylic Paint.
To mount this to the wall there are many different options. The easiest would be a D-Ring to hang on a screw or nail mounted in the wall.
I hope you have enjoyed this series and have the perfect person in mind for this Wall Mounted Bottle Opener. For the other posts, check out the rest of the A DIY Christmas posts!
