This post is in collaboration with Jamba Appliances. All opinions are my own.
I love this time of year when the local fruit and vegetable market is full of fresh berries from Eastern Washington. Brad and I go almost weekly to get fresh produce for the week and I always make sure to pick up a flat or two of berries.
When I was offered the opportunity to try out the Jamba Appliances Quiet Blend Blender with Travel Cup I knew that I wanted to try out a green smoothie with this fresh produce. This blender is pretty awesome-sauce and hasn’t left my counter since I opened it because I keep putting it to use! Make sure you check out the giveaway at the bottom as well so you can enter to win one of your own!
I’ve discovered that green smoothies are very forgiving and they are easy to create using whatever you have on hand. If you are trying to “hide” the flavor of the vegetables, it doesn’t take much fruit to do so.
- 1 handful spinach
- 3-4 large pieces kale
- 1 cup raspberries
- 1 cup blueberries
- ½-1 cup orange juice
- 1 sprig mint
- 1 Tablespoon chia seeds
- ½ cup ice
- Wash the produce
- Add the spinach and kale into the blender
- Add ½ cup of orange juice
- Blend until smooth, adding more liquid if needed
- Add in the ice, berries, mint and chia seeds
- Blend until smooth
The blender is definitely quiet (as the name suggests); and then adding on the quiet shield it gets even quieter! It is still powerful and had no issues crushing the ice into the smoothie (or slushie cocktails). It also includes a tamper to help stubborn pieces get sucked into the blades.
Even Brad approved of this delicious green smoothie. I had bought a juicer a couple years ago; however, it quickly found its way to the garage because I wasn’t a fan of cleaning it. This blender will be living on our counter all summer as I make smoothies to go along with our dinners. It is easy to clean (and is even dishwasher safe)!
I can’t wait to see what other flavor combinations I can make this summer for smoothies and also see what else I can make with the blender. I’m anticipating a summer of fresh fruit margaritas!
Want to try one out for yourself? Pick one up on Amazon or test you luck with the giveaway below. Good luck and happy blending!
