This post is in collaboration with AC Hotel by Marriott in Bellevue, WA. All opinions are my own.
This past weekend, Brad and I have an awesome mini staycation in the Seattle area. We ate some delicious food, had some fun experiences, and had an overall awesome weekend celebrating our anniversary.
Brad and I had a couple ideas of things we wanted to around Seattle for our staycation. This past weekend was Seafair which means that the Blue Angels were in town for an airshow. The I-90 bridge closes to cars during this airshow but people can get out on the bridge for a unique vantage point. We’ve been having quite hazy skies recently because the smoke from wildfires in British Columbia has been blowing into the area. We weren’t sure if the smoke would allow for a good show, and were happy when it had somewhat cleared Saturday morning.
A Seattle Area Staycation
When I was offered the chance to be one of the very first guess at AC Hotel in Bellevue, WA I was super excited because I knew that it would be a great location for our “home base” for our staycation. Brad and I had stayed at an AC Hotel in Portland over Memorial Day Weekend; the AC brand has a great modern look and features local brands.
The first thing that you see when you walk in the doors is this giant living wall. It is 15 feet tall and will be cool to see how it changes over the years.
Our King room was large and had plenty of space to hang out between activities of the weekend. We had a corner room and could even see the Seattle skyline in the distance out one of the windows.
The room featured so many great little touches to the hotel as well. I was working at the desk when I first checked in and realized that there was a little succulent hanging out on the desk as well.
After Brad and I checked out the Blue Angles airshow for Seafair, we headed back to the hotel to figure out the rest of our day. The AC Hotel in Bellevue was a great central location for our weekend as it is easy to get into Seattle and also to Woodinville where we went wine tasting Saturday afternoon/evening. I grew up in Woodinville; yet had never actually gone wine tasting. Our first stop was at my childhood home which is now Sky River Meadery. It was kinda weird being back there, and seeing how my dad’s woodshop has been turned into a tasting room.
After a couple more wineries, Brad and I headed back to the hotel and for dinner in Bellevue. Friday night we went to Daniel’s Broiler for an anniversary dinner which was seriously one of the best meals I’ve had. We could have easily walked there for dinner, but maxi dress + wedges + 90* weather meant we drove the 5 minutes to dinner. Since Bellevue Park had recently been remodeled, we wanted to check out the changes (we spent many hours here during highschool since it was just down the street).
The AC Lounge was a great way to finish the evening. It was fun chatting with the bartenders, and many of the cocktails had fun Seattle & Eastside themed names.
When I saw Macrons on the menu, I knew that I needed to try them out and it was definitely a good decision. The bartenders joked that if the plate came out with one missing it wasn’t them.
If you are going to be visiting Seattle (or want to have your own little Staycation). I highly recommend the AC Hotel in Bellevue. It’s central location to all of the Seattle area activities and an absolutely gorgeous hotel.

What a beautiful hotel! I have seen the blue angels at a show on Long Island! They are so amazing to see, usually we can catch them by our house since it’s in the “flight path” that they take to the beaches!
