Last week I had to go down to Portland for a work conference so I figured it was a opportune time to see what this car could do. The 2016 Kia Optima Turbo definitely impressed during this mini road trip and I can’t wait to share some of the awesome features with you.
I definitely got used to the push button start and keyless entry. It was nice to simply keep the key in my purse (and the mirrors would fold in when I locked the door so it was easy to make sure I had locked the car as I walked away).
There were a few days where I utilized both the heated AND the vented seats (as well as the heated steering wheel). I also REALLY enjoyed the sport mode while driving down the freeway. A majority of the drive down to Portland involved a 70mph speed limit and the 2016 Kia Optima was definitely up for that ride.
I might have been a little overly excited when I realized that there was a Qi charger in the center console area. With my Samsung Galaxy S6 I just had to set my phone down there and it would charge while I drove. I did forget my phone in the car a few times so it would be nice if the beep was a little louder reminding me that that my phone was in the charger.
The quilted leather seats were super comfortable and reminded me of a gorgeous Chanel bag (a girl can dream, right?).
I love that more cars are having the home screens split with the navigation and XM radio. This allowed me to follow the navigation and also see what is currently playing on the radio. I definitely flipped through the stations dozens of times during my drive to Portland and it was so nice knowing that I wouldn’t lose reception going down the freeway.
Kia definitely knows how to do rear cameras! They feature a top-down 360 degree view and then flip to a forward facing camera when you go back into drive so that you can make sure to clear the car in front of you when pulling out of a parking spot.
I had a great time driving around the 2016 Kia Optima and I was sad to see it go. I hope you had a great time learning about all the fun features as well!
