I’m pretty sure Buffalo Plaid is currently the iconic pattern for fall. There is something about the red and black checkers that are perfect as the weather cools off and we get ready for the holidays. Plaid and flannel are no longer just for lumberjacks, but can easily be dressed up to wear to work. This fun buffalo plaid outfit would be perfect for casual Friday at the office, or running errands on the weekends.
I got this buffalo plaid button down last year, and fortunately Old Navy still carries the top this year. I used to never wear button down tops because they just simply never buttoned properly; however, I love that I can wear them now thanks to my breast reduction surgery. It has opened up a whole new section of the store! This buffalo plaid flannel is one of my favorites because it is super soft and comfortable.
Normally, a flannel button down may be a bit too casual for the office environment; however, but adding some other dressier aspects it can work perfectly. Instead of the jeans that I normally pair with this top, I picked up a pair of black skinny jeans. They have worked great for a variety of outfits, and I look forward to seeing what else I can dress up with these jeans. Anytime that I can wear jeans instead of dress pants is a win in my book!
A classic black handbag also helps dress up the buffalo plaid top. This Celine bag is large enough to hold my laptop and other necessities for the day with room to spare. It has a zipper closure for the center, and also some ties which can be used to tie off the outside pockets. There are so many awesome Celine bags available right now on Fashionphile. They have such a classic shape and is perfect for a day at the office.
I’ve mentioned a few times about how much I love the Target jewelry selection. This statement necklace is again from Target and a great way to finish off the outfit. It features rose gold balls and has an adjustable length so I was able to line it up perfectly with the collar of the flannel top.
These Blondo Waterproof zippered sneakers have become a fast favorite this fall. I love pairing them with all sorts of outfits, and even though they are slightly wedged, they are as comfortable as my standard pair of flats. They have gone with me all over San Francisco, and will probably be all over NYC on my current trip.
I seriously love this outfit. It can be worn in a huge variety of situations from work, to happy hour, to weekend errands. Depending on your office environment, it could be an any day outfit, or perfect for casual Friday.
