Do you enjoy baths? Every once in a while I enjoy taking a nice hot bath in my soaking tub. Bath bombs are a perfect addition to a hot bath – they give a lovely scent while adding moisture to your skin.
DIY Bath Bomb
Ingredients:
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup citric acid
- 1/2 cup corn starch
- 2 T almond oil
- 3/4 T water
- 1 t lavender oil (or other desired scent)
- 1/4 t borax
- Witch Hazel in spray bottle
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine baking soda, citric acid and corn starch. In a second bowl, combine the remaining ingredients except for the witch hazel. Mix the wet and dry ingredients together until the the mixture resembles a fine slightly damp sand. If it needs a bit more moisture, give the mixture a couple squirts of witch hazel. Once the consistency is correct, pack tightly into molds.
I chose not to use any coloring in mine, but if you wanted to mix in some food coloring you could do that (or see here how to make your own food dyes).
These bath bombs need to dry overnight in order to harden but once that happens they are ready to pop out and use.
I used these heart molds (which are the same ones I used for my crayons and is the reason that some of them have a bit of colored flakes).
What scent would you want for your relaxing bath?

This is really neat. I will have to make some of these because I think that my daughter would really enjoy some bath bombs!
