In just a couple days I will be packing up and heading to BlogHer in San Jose. One of the awesome things that I will be doing while there is learning about Babies First Test and the Save Babies Through Screening Foundation at the BlogHer baby shower. In addition to learning about newborn screening, the baby shower is going to feature some fun brands and their products. I have a bunch of preggo friends so this baby shower will have some great information that I can pass along to them.
A little bit about the sponsors:
Save Babies Through Screening Foundation
The goal of Save Babies Through Screaning is to prevent disabilities and death that could have been detected at birth therefore improving the lives of children and their families. They work to educate parents, healthcare providers and policy makers about the importance of a comprehensive testing suite. They also stress the importance of follow-up tests for those which come back positive or inconclusive, within 5 days of birth. Learn more on their Website, Facebook and Twitter.
Babies First Test
This resource provides current educational materials for family support. It is broken down to the local, state and national levels. It’s goal is to educate parents, healthcare professionals and other members of the public to the importance of newborn screening. It also provides ways for people to discuss their viewpoints and questions about newborn screening. Learn more on their Website, Facebook and Twitter.
