Over the past few years, I’ve discovered that a disorganized pantry is recursive and will therefore lead to an even MORE disorganized pantry. Many times I’ve run out of ketchup, bought two at the store so that I would have an extra on hand, and then discovered that I had done that LAST TIME I ran out of ketchup. Had my pantry been more organized, I would have known that I already had one on hand.
I imagine that I’m not the only one with this problem (seriously, I can’t be the ONLY person with a disaster pantry) so I came up with an easy pantry inventory printable. Simply fill it out to keep track of what is already in your pantry so you can plan dinners around what you already have.

One thing that I always have on hand is pasta sauce. Spaghetti is one of our go-to dinners throughout the week so I want to make sure that I always have pasta and sauce on hand for evenings that I don’t really feel like cooking. I also really like grilled cheese sandwiches and I enjoy a little bit of pasta sauce for dipping (I used to always do tomato soup, but since Brad can’t eat it I switched to pasta sauce).
I’m looking forward to adding this Ragu Homestyle pasta sauce to the pantry lineup. With the extra thick recipe, it could be a game changer in my pasta making game.
One of my favorite dinners is bowtie pasta with grilled chicken and tasty Ragu Homestyle pasta sauce.
Ingredients:
- 1 box Bowtie Pasta
- 3-4 Chicken Breasts
- 1 Jar Ragu Homestyle Pasta Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion salt
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano
Directions:
- Cook pasta according to box instructions
- Drain and mix with the entire jar of Ragu Homestyle Pasta sauce
- Coat each chicken breast with seasonings
- Place the chicken breast into a heated skillet
- Cook until cooked throughout
- Slice the chicken and enjoy with pasta
The Ragu Homestyle pasta sauce is perfect for weeknight dinner. Since I don’t have time to make my own pasta sauce from scratch, the Homestyle line is the next best thing. The extra thick and chunky recipe hugs each noodle, and is created with fresh ingredients.
How do you keep your pantry organized? Is there something that you always have on hand?

I love the idea of a printable! I keep my pantry organized by sections. Ketchup, ranch and miracle whip we can’t ever run out on or the house just basically falls apart lol

Cute! I always keep pasta sauce, quinoa, and beans in the pantry! It’s narrow and tiny so it’s mainly organized by where it fits!
