Over the past few years I’ve collected quite a few Scrabble tiles as I am always hunting for them at thrift stores to make my Scrabble Pendant Necklaces (if only there were more than one J and K per box!). Anyways, with all these other tiles I knew that there had to be other projects that I could complete. One thing that I’m always looking for is new home decor so I decided to use them in a vase!
To re-create this vase, you just need a few items:
- Scrabble Tiles – I used 300 tiles (which is the equivalent to 3 games)
- 9″ Hurricane Vase (similar)
- Cylinder vase (similar)
Place the cylinder vase inside the hurricane vase and fill with scrabble tiles. I set a piece of paper over the opening of the cylinder so that I didn’t have any tiles fall inside. Once the vase was filled with tiles, simply add some water and flowers!
I decided to add this vase on my coffee table. Normally I decorate my kitchen table for fall, but decided to decorate my coffee table instead this year. My kitchen table also has a bunch of craft supplies on it as I get ready for Christmas craft fairs which made the coffee table a better choice as well.
In addition to the scrabble vase, I added my DIY fall table runner and some of my favorite glassybabys.
I think this scrabble vase will be hanging out on my coffee table for a while (which really is a great reason to also keep buying flowers throughout the season). How would you use this Scrabble vase?

I never go into a charity shop without a quick look in the games section to see if they have scrabble, I totally agree about the J & K, it’s like the game designers didn’t realise we want to make things with them! I just keep my unused so far tiles in a box, this would be fun to display them until I find another use!
Pam says
This is such a cute idea especially since we all have scrabble games that are missing tons of pieces.
