The past few weeks, Brad and I (and my Dad) have been hard at work updating our deck! We are keeping the footprint the same, but rather a cosmetic change to composite decking and railing. Today I’m sharing some aspects for the perfect deck warming party, including decor and some delicious recipes.

Since we have had such a cool and wet spring, I wanted to go all out in bright colors and delicious summer recipes for the party. In addition to the steaks, we’ll also be enjoying my Avocado Summer Salad, and some amazing fresh grapes and cherries. All these foods will go great with the Coca-Cola™, Diet Coke®, and Coca-Cola Cherry. I even utilized some Coca-Cola in my steak marinade!

I loved that I was able to pick up all these ingredients (including the Share An Ice Cold Coke bottles) at Target (because seriously, who doesn’t love having an excuse to shop at Target). The employees probably thought I was a bit crazy as I looked through this entire display, and all the coolers at the check stand to see which names I could find. Our deck is the perfect entertaining space. It has plenty of space for our guests and I am loving the aesthetics of the updated decking. This party is truly a deck warming as we will be hosting many parties out here in the years to come.

I tried to find all of our friends’ names, and I did find a good portion of them. I’ll be checking out the display whenever I’m in the store throughout the summer to see if I can find other friends’ names; it is a fun little gift to show people that you are thinking of them. This year, there are over 1000 names (both first AND last) featured on the bottles. I’m determined to find my name (and how cool would it be if I could find our last name as well).

Target has so much fun summertime decor as well. I love these plates and napkins that I found. They are perfect for the summer theme of the party. I love the bright colors and gold foil accents that they include (plus, how fun are the scallop edges). The lights were in the dollar spot and definitely add a touch of summer to the party (plus, you all know my obsession with pineapples and flamingos during the summer).

I was able to find a “Brad”; however, there weren’t any “Kendra” bottles at my Target so I picked myself up a “Katrina” and decided that it was close enough. One of these days I will find my name.
