Did somebody on your Christmas list buy a new home this year? This opens up a whole other realm of gift ideas. Whether they bought a fixer-upper or new construction, there are lots of home items that make great gifts this holiday season.
These gifts are for the inside or outside the home, from the kitchen to the bathroom. A variety of items that are perfect for any new homeowner.
Some of the items in this guide were provided for gift guide consideration; however, I am only including items that I truly think are great gifts.
Gifts for New Homeowners
Ruggable
I first discovered Ruggable earlier this year and have been thinking about them ever since. I’ve avoided rugs in the past because of how hard they are to clean if our animals make a mess. Ruggable is unique because each rug is actually two pieces, and the top is washable! This two part solution also allows to swap the rug out to decorate for the different holidays (they have some pretty festive ones currently). Now, unless you really know the gift recipients style and measurements a gift card might be the best bet for Ruggable, but it would still be a pretty awesome gift.
Festive Serveware
Christmas tree shaped cutting boards, a reindeer utensil holder, and snowman salt and pepper shakers are just a few ideas of festive serveware that could be gifted at either Christmas or as a hostess gift. If you’re looking for something that could be used year round, then a wooden platter or marble serving tray could be other great options.
goSili Reusable Sandwich Bags
These sandwich bags are perfect for a variety of uses in addition to taking sandwiches to and from work. They can be microwaved, go in the freezer, or used as a steamer bag for veggies. The goSili reusable bags would be perfect for some leftover veggies from dinner; take them to work the next day and simply reheat them in the bag! These bags would make great stocking stuffers as the silicone material will easily roll.
Bathroom Towel Warmer
Once you have a towel warmer, you won’t want to go back to cold towels! We had the perfect wall for two towel warmers just outside our shower. Towel warmers also serve a practical purpose; they help dry your towel after use. Bacteria and smells emerge from towels because of how long they take to dry after each use, so speeding the drying process helps eliminate this issue between washes.
PowerXL Smokeless Grill
Sometimes the weather doesn’t cooperate with the meal plan. With the PowerXL Smokeless Grill, bring the grilling indoors! This product features an internal fan to extract the smoke so there is no worry about the smoke detector going off. The PowerXL Smokeless Grill also has a griddle top for making delicious bacon, or pancakes. The cooking surfaces are also dishwasher safe which is a major bonus for me!
Chipmonkey Wine
Any occasion can call for wine. Chipmonkey Wine helps you gift the perfect wine whatever the occasion. Each wine is selected by a sommelier, and paired with each occasion. You can opt to send either red, white, or sparkling and how many bottles. The card can also be personalized with a photo, and you can add accessories like wine charms.
In addition to normal occasions, Chipmonkey Wine also provides wine for the not so standard occasions such as “toddler troubles”, “it must suck to be technologically challenged”, and “sorry your coworkers are crazy”.
Funny Dish Towels
Every kitchen needs some humor. Dish Towels are the perfect little touch of personality to the kitchen. There are so many awesome options available on Amazon or Etsy from the funny to the somewhat inappropriate.
Agate Coasters
Agate is gorgeous and makes amazing coasters, especially when they have gold edges. If the new homeowner plans on having lots of parties in their new home then coasters are a must! Why not make those coasters pretty, especially if they are going to be sitting out between uses.
TreePod Cabana
I got one of these this past summer and it is amazing. Not only did I enjoy lounging on it in the evening or weekend, it was a hit with our friends’ kids as well. The dog’s weren’t so sure about it. We were able to hang it from a tree in the backyard, but TreePod also sells a portable stand so you could lounge anywhere. Give those new homeowners something relaxing for the backyard!
Wall Mounted Bottle Opener
I’ve made some wall mounted bottle openers to sell at craft fairs. As we started hanging out on the deck this spring, Brad went down to my bin of inventory, picked one out for himself, and mounted it on the deck. In our previous home, we had one right at the door into the house from the garage since we had a drink fridge in the garage.
If you’re shopping for a new homeowner, I hope this list gave you a few fun and useful ideas. What items would you add?
