Once I hit about 5 months of pregnancy, I started getting tons of ads for Kiziks and their hands free shoe. I debated back and forth about buying them because I’m always nervous to buy shoes that I can’t try on first. I decided to try a clearance pair first to see how they fit my somewhat wide, but also normal width sometimes, foot. They definitely were super easy to put on (although, I still had to fight with putting on socks) and fit great.
The following year, I was looking for some plain white shoes to wear for a trip at Disneyland. I’ve been burned wearing “cute but unpractical” shoes to make the perfect outfit in the past, and wanted to make sure that I didn’t sacrifice comfort for appearances. I decided to give a white pair of Kiziks a chance, knowing that if they started to hurt part way through the day I could go swap out for more comfortable, but less aesthetic, shoes midday.
Throughout the day I took notice of how my feet were feeling. Did I need to walk back to the hotel to swap out? Could I make it a few more hours? Should I change shoes for tomorrow? Each time I internally checked-in, I was good to keep going with my outfit-matching Kiziks.
I will say that I made sure to pair my Kiziks with quality socks. I bought some socks that are made for running, and promoted bilster-free design. I also make sure to travel with blister Band-Aids to apply if I start to feel any friction on the back of my heel.
Wearing cute Disneybounding outfits is part of the fun of visiting the parks. Creating outfits that are themed around a favorite character, or making the entire family follow the same theme, is fun to plan and creates absolutely adorable family photos. Kiziks has a variety of colors, so it could easily be able to use different colors depending on the rest of the outfit. I went with white to basically just be a neutral shoe to hide into the background.
I’m getting ready to head back to the parks this coming week and my Kiziks will definitely be packed!
