I make weekly trips to a few different thrift stores and one of the things that I’m always looking for are Scrabble games. I use the tiles to make Scrabble Tile Necklaces in my Etsy shop. I’m always looking for more games because there is only one ‘J’ and ‘K’ per box (which are quite popular for names). I have quite a few of the other letters so I was looking for other projects to do with them. I saw some rolls of washi tape sitting on my counter and a light bulb went off – why not decorate the scrabble tiles with washi?
Washi Tape Scrabble Tile Pendant
The directions for creating these are similar to the Washi Tape Bird I made earlier this month. Simply cover the Scrabble tile with washi tape then use a razor blade to trim the edges. Attach a pendant bail to the back of the tile with a glue such as E6000.
I suggest covering the washi tape in mod podge to adhere the tape to the Scrabble tile. Without this layer, the washi tape could easily peel off the Scrabble tile over time.
With how quick and simple these are to make, it would be easy to make a bunch of them and swap out depending on your outfit.
What type of pendant would you make?

These probably could even be completed without a sewing machine, just hand sew the ribbon together instead.
