If you are looking for a spin on the traditional “Gift In Jar” this post is perfect for you! Create a fun hot cocoa ornament with just a few ingredients.
DIY Hot Cocoa Ornaments
First, start with some ornaments. I tried a few different ones and determined that I liked the 70mm ball the best. I had some glass ones in my supplies, but you could easily use plastic as well. I also used some bell shaped ornaments which were able to hold 2 servings.
The other ingredients needed include:
- Hot Chocolate Envelopes
- Holiday Sprinkles
- Mini Chocolate Chips
- Dehydrated Marshmallows
Pour the entire envelope packet into the ornament. Gently shake so that it creates a flat surface on top. Layer the mini chocolate chips, marshmallows and sprinkles to fill up the rest of the ornament (you might not completely fill it up, just fill it to where you think it looks good).
When gifting these ornaments, make sure that they don’t get shook nor tipped over otherwise the layers will disappear.
These make great gifts for large groups of people; they are relatively inexpensive and easy to make. If you want to add a small tag; simply include the directions to mix with hot water (or my preference – milk) and enjoy!
Who would you make these for?

What a cute idea! These would make the perfect gift for coworkers, that is if I could get them there without tipping. I’ve seen a lot of gifts in a jar but not in an ornament. Thanks for sharing! Pinning!
