The 2016 XC90 T8 Inscription is a work of art turned into an amazing SUV. I had so much fun trying out the features and I probably could have spent another month with it before I found all the technology that it offered.
When you first get in the car, it knows when there is a person in each seat and gives you a little icon that shows whether or not they are buckled.
The heads up display not only shows your speed and the speed limit, but also the upcoming directions for navigation. The speed limit is tracked both through GPS and also through cameras that read the speed signs as you drive. If you get more than 5MPH over the speed limit, it starts blinking to alert you.
I must say that I absolutely LOVED the center screen on the Volvo XC90. It is HUGE and had so many features. I spent most of the week enjoying my Spotify playlist during my commute. Spotify is available as an app to download straight to the infotainment system. Sometimes it would take a while for the car to connect to Spotify; however, that can be expected as it is trying to connect to the cloud as you are a moving target. The 19 speakers create an incredible sound stage throughout the entire car.
The 360 degree cameras allow you to also choose your view so if you are close to something in the front or side, simply change to that view. The Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription also features parking assistance where it will pretty much park for you. I didn’t get a chance to try it out, but I heard from some other people who tried it out that it is pretty amazing.
I also enjoyed the built in WiFi so that I didn’t use up my data as we were driving around over the week. There are lots of little things that make this car pretty amazing, like the gorgeous wood grain covers to hide the cup holders and the hand carved gear shift.
The heated steering wheel controlled the phone, radio, and cruise control. If you are traveling under 30MPH, the Pilot Assist will pretty much drive the car for you as it utilizes adaptive cruise control and lane departure assistance.
I’ve never seen so many different seat adjustments! The seats could even be extended so that taller drivers (and front seat passengers) could have added comfort. One of my (6’2″) coworkers tried it out and said that it definitely would be helpful for long road trips. Side note: he also sat in the 3rd row to/from lunch one day and while he wouldn’t want to sit back there for too long of a trip, he said that it was pretty comfortable for a 3rd row.
I had never seen a car that includes a built in booster seat. The middle seat of the second row can be turned into a booster seat, so if your kid is at the height where they don’t need the 5 point harness but still need the added height this is a great solution.
The trunk features a panel that will flip up to hold groceries in place while you transport them home. In addition to the hooks, there is also a bungee strap to keep them in place.
The 3rd row of seats easily fold down to allow for more storage. There was a good amount of trunk space when the seats were up, but it is definitely nice to be able to collapse the 3rd row when hauling larger items.
The exterior of the car is absolutely gorgeous in addition to the interior.

The Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription is a car that needs to be experienced to believe! What music would you use to test out the concert hall speaker system?

Thanks for all the interior shots of this. We saw one in a parking lot the other day and admired the outside but were wondering what the inside looked like.
