A few years ago, I bought a bunch of old cabinet doors at the IKEA garage sale. I had made various things with them like these Necklace holders, but had a few left over so I was trying to come up with some other ideas. Since they are solid wood, they can stand being outside for extended periods of time. I decided to turn a couple of them into some Christmas decor.
Upcycled Golden Reindeer Decor
The first thing I did was spray paint the doors gold (I also discovered that the two cans of gold spray paint that I had were different shades of gold). It took a couple coats on each side in order to actually cover the door and get into the nooks and crannies.
The center section measured about 8″ square so I sized the two reindeer shapes to really fill the area nicely. I used my Silhouette Cameo and some Black Permanent Adhesive Vinyl to cut the reindeer then adhered them to the cabinet doors.
I added a sawtooth hanger to the back of each so that they could hang out on our front porch throughout the Christmas season. I still have to figure out which one I like better for the front porch.
I like how simplistic but festive these signs turned out. Either one will look great on my porch once I get the rest of my holiday decor out from storage! Which reindeer is your favorite?

I love how they are so simple but bold – my kind of decor!

That’s actually super cute! I like them both, but I think the one with the reindeer looking to the side is my favorite.

These came out so well! I love them but I think the side is my favorite. It can be used for Christmas and then as a Harry Potter decoration as a patronus!

This is so adorable and looks good with that blue door.

I love the gold framing. I think the picture would look great on a mantel too. Thanks for sharing on Sunday’s Best Linkup.
