All of my decorating energy goes into Christmas; however, I saw a pin quite a few years ago with some conversation hearts in a large vase and decided that I wanted to recreate it, especially after discovering that I could buy the conversation hearts by the pound at Win-Co.

I already had these vases in my home; however, both of them are available at JoAnn’s. Make sure to use a coupon – they are available through the website, app, or email subscription.

To fill the inner vase, I used a pack of water beads; they start as a small ball and then expand when water is added.  My goal was to avoid watering the flowers once they are in the vase because it would be difficult to see the water level once all the hearts are added. They are also fun to play with so I like looking for reasons to use them.

I used about 2 – 2.5 pounds of conversation hearts to fill this vase.  Pixel decided that she wanted to check out what I was doing (and also probably debating how she could eat any of the items in the vase).

This centerpiece is super easy, and is pretty low maintenance to keep it looking nice leading up to Valentine’s Day. The water beads are nice to help with the water needs of the flowers, but it does still require some refills depending how thirsty your flowers are.

I really love how this conversation heart vase turned out and have made it for multiple years whenever the holiday rolls around. Don’t worry, I do get new conversation heart candies each year.
