I’ve done a few different projects with Scrabble Tiles. Today we take a glimpse into Christmas season with Scrabble Tile Christmas Ornaments. Now is the time to be looking for these tiles at thrift stores, or buy some off the interwebs; however, if you buy tiles off the internet you might not have the trays.
Scrabble Tile Christmas Ornaments
First, think up some Christmas-y words:
Wish, Santa, Snow, Joy, Cheer, Noel, Ho Ho Ho, Sled, etc. You could also personalize it with a first or last name.
Each tray will fit 8 tiles so pair up either a 4 letter word with another 4 letter word or a 5 letter word with a 2 or 3 letter word. There is only one “J” and “K” per game, so if you pick “Joy” you will only be able to make one of these per game.
Place the tiles on the tray and mark where to cut. If you are doing two 4-letter words, just cut it in half. I had Brad use his miter saw but they could also be done by hand. Once the trays have been cut, sand the rough edges.
Place a line of E6000 glue along the tile tray and then position the tiles. Let dry.
Cut a piece of ribbon roughly 9-10 inches long, create a loop and then glue to the back of the tray. I used some superglue to seal the ends.
Can you think of some people who would enjoy getting these ornaments? What words would you use?

What a cute idea. I have seem just the tiles as ornaments but like the idea of using the stands. I might feel bad cutting them.
Thanks for sharing at Turn It Up Tuesday,

This is so cute. The problem is I can not find any scrabble games in my area. But if I do I’ll grab it so I can make these adorable ornaments.
