A couple years ago I did a whole series on how to wear hunter rain boots. I love these boots in our rainy Seattle weather. They are cute, comfortable, and practical (especially now that I have a walk to and from the train). I have a few more outfits involving these awesome boots. I recently decided to try some of the short boots, and I really like them, especially as somebody with thicker calves.
How to Wear Short Blue Hunter Rain Boots
One question I’ve gotten many times is how I ended up with so many different pairs of these boots. I promise I did not pay full retail for all of them! Some I have ordered straight from Nordstrom, but others I’ve found on Buy-Sell-Trade Facebook sites, thrift stores, or other discount retailers.
In addition to the boots, I also love the Hunter Boot Socks. They create a fun addition to the outfit, especially here where the jeans and boots are a similar color.
I’ve mentioned before that Fashionphile is a great site for purchasing gently used designer bags. This purse is the Louis Vuitton Siena MM. It also has a cross-body strap, which is how I wear it normally; however, I love that it can be used with or without the strap. Each Fashionphile listing has multiple pictures of the bag showing size, wear, and details of the bag. They also list out the condition of specific items such as the exterior, interior, and zippers/hardware.
I love how this outfit came together, and I would totally even wear it to work (yes, even with the rain boots, this is Seattle). The Blue Gingham button down is from Old Navy and can easily be dressed up or down. I paired it with this Old Navy Red Cardigan, and I especially like how it it is open in the front so the necklines don’t interfere.
This designer inspired belt is actually from Amazon! The sizing is done in cm, so the best way to figure out which size you need is to measure your waist and hips with a flexible tape measure. There are lots of sizing holes included so each belt has a good bit of flexibility, plus it comes with a tool to add more holes for a tighter fit if needed. The tool works quite well, I used it on my black belt to make it a bit smaller.
To round out this outfit, I added a long strand a faux-pearls, and of course my favorite Kate Spade smart watch! One tip I have for doing the button-down inside a cardigan with rolled sleeves look is to do that all *before* you put it on. I put the sleeves of the button down through the cardigan sleeves, rolled them up and adjusted the collar all before I put it on. That way I could use both hands to get a good roll on the cuffs, and I could easily see that they were going to be even. It also helped ensure that the collar was nicely situated around the cardigan as well.
I seriously love this outfit, and have already worn it again (although, I did pair it with some different shoes because I was traveling and didn’t pack the rain boots).
