It has been quite the spring. Between selling the house, moving in, and then starting a house remodel, we haven’t had much down time. Most of our free time is spent on making progress on our kitchen remodel, and the majority of our belongings are still in the garage until we have a finished space to move into.
While we use most of our free time working on home projects, sometimes we do want to just sit around and relax. We do relax on the couch for an episode or two of a TV show off the DVR each evening before we head to bed, but I was looking for something a bit more exciting.
I brought a hammock chair back from our honeymoon and enjoyed relaxing in it throughout the years; however, it met it’s demise a couple years ago. Since then, I’ve dreamed of having a new hammock in the backyard for relaxing in the sunshine.
When I saw our new backyard, I saw lots of great locations for a new hammock or hammock chair. We have quite a few strong, mature trees with branches that could easily support a comfy spot. A few of the trees even had bungee cords that had grown into a tree which looked like they might have been previously used for hammocks.
I started looking around Wayfair for inspiration on the perfect backyard oasis hammock. There were lots of options from the standard hammock to the ultimate relaxation pod. I decided on the TreePod Cabana and it was the best decision ever (ok, that might be a bit of a hyperbole, but you get the point).
Wayfair also carries the TreePod Lounger. The main difference is that the Cabana has mesh walls, while the lounger has canvas walls. I opted for the mesh walls so I could still see outside while I relaxed, and also to let the light into the pod.
We hung the TreePod Cabana in the Madrona tree in our yard. I love my little backyard oasis. It is the perfect spot for reading, catching up with friends online, or just laying down for a nap.
This is the 5′ diameter version. It also comes in 4′ or 6′. Brad and I have both enjoyed swinging with the wind in the TreePod Cabana. Jaxson and Brody also loved crawling around in it when they visited a couple weeks ago. If you don’t have a good tree for your TreePod, a stand is also available.
I look forward to spending many hours lounging in this backyard oasis throughout the summer. Would you pick the cabana or the lounger for your backyard?
