Last year, I made some Print & Cut Dishwasher magnets to declare whether that dishwasher is clean, dirty, or empty. Over time, the magnet started to fall apart so I decided to make some more robust clean dirty magnets using vinyl and wood slices.
My wood slices were approximately 3.5″ in diameter so in Silhouette studio I created a design that was 3″ in diameter. I used a few different designs that were in my library to create this Clean/Dirty/Empty Dishwasher Magnet. We like having the 3rd option because if they both say dirty, we don’t know which one to load.
Most people don’t need the “empty” option so I also created simply a Clean/Dirty Wood Slice Dishwasher Magnet. This is one design where I’m very glad that I invested in a CB-09 blade. There is no way that I could have cut the intricate design like this without it.
I had some wood slices left over from the Wood Slice Christmas Ornaments that I made last fall which were the perfect size for this project. Simply cut the design, transfer it onto the wood slice then add some strong magnets onto the back!
I played around with different fonts until I found my favorites and absolutely LOVE how they turned out. I also decided to add them to my Etsy shop so if you would like one for yourself you can pick one up here.
This month, I’ve teamed up with some awesome bloggers to show off some amazing projects using the Silhouette Cameo.

I need to make one of these for our dishwasher. Everyone always wonders if the dishes are clean or not, so this would help clear that up. Thanks for sharing your tutorial on Merry Monday. Pinned.
