I love Christmas. What other holiday has an entire season devoted to celebrating? I’ve been listening to Christmas music on and off for a few months and regularly for a couple weeks now so next up is starting to decorate my house!

November 16th – 22nd is National Decorate Your Home for the holidays week so Big Lots is making sure to keep you well stocked with great decor items. I’m celebrating this by decorating my home – beginning with our living room mantle!

Materials:

• Lighted Christmas Garland
• Taller Decor
• Christmas Sign
• Candle Votives

Start with the lighted garland and make sure that it is even across the mantle. We have a plug inside the mantle so it was easy to spread this evenly. I used the votives to wind the garland in and out across the mantle. Then space out the other decor to your liking.

For my mantle, I went with a little bit of a rustic theme. The colors that I looked for at Big Lots were classic red, green and white and they definitely delivered.

I absolutely love this Merry Christmas sign. It fits into my color theme and also adds a little bit of glitter to my decor.

Make sure to pick up some taller decor as well to differentiate different levels of decor. I really like this Christmas tree and Snowman. They match my color theme and are so cute!

Brad and I headed to Big Lots one evening after dinner and they had so many options. I wandered through the aisles figuring out the perfect decor for our mantle this year; and since styles and assortment vary by store I might need to head out to another Big Lots to see what other goodies I can find.
