A couple years ago, I made some pretty awesome cocktails that utilized dry ice for a fun experience. I’ve been wanting to come up with something else that is fun for Halloween and I’m pretty excited about what I found this year.

Ever since I’ve been a kid, I have love things that glowed in the dark. Since I couldn’t exactly make a cocktail that simply glowed in the dark, I went for the next best thing – Halloween Cocktails that glow with a black-light! This is actually pretty easy to achieve so I’m sharing a few tips below.

Halloween Cocktails That Glow In The Dark with a Black-lightThere are two main ingredients that will help these cocktails glow – Tonic Water, and Vitamin B. Tonic Water will glow blue, and Vitamin B (specifically Thiamine) will glow yellow.

I used a combination of these two ingredients, along with other ingredients for flavor to create these pretty awesome cocktails.

Add some pretty cool effects to your Halloween party with these easy cocktails that will glow under black-light

Ingredients
  • 1 Vitamin B Complex Pill
  • 3 Ounces Tonic Water
  • 3 Ounces Fresca
  • 2 Ounces Vodka
  • ½ Ounce Orange Juice
Instructions
  1. Grind a Vitamin B Pill into a fine powder
  2. In a cocktail glass (or fun scientific beaker), combine Tonic Water, Fresca, Vodka, and Orange Juice.
  3. Stir in ¼ of the powder into the cocktail
  4. Enjoy under Black-Light

Halloween Cocktails That Glow In The Dark with a Black-lightSince Tonic Water will glow blue under black-light by itself; a super easy drink option would be a classic Gin & Tonic!

Halloween Cocktails That Glow In The Dark with a Black-lightI also experimented with how the cocktail would change with the different ratios. Adding more Orange Juice and less Fresca still allowed for some glow; however, it wasn’t as intense as the original cocktail.

Halloween Cocktails That Glow In The Dark with a Black-lightI think that these cocktails would be so much fun for a Halloween party, and the various Scientific Beakers, Flasks, and Graduated Cylinders are the perfect items to enjoy them. I used this LED Black Light which gave quite a good bit of light and could easily light a small room for a party.
