Easter is just under a month away; but this year is definitely different with quarantine, working from home, and the uncertainty of everything going on. I do not sit still well, so I’m sure it won’t be long before I’m itching for stuff to do. I gathered a few extra ingredients in case I decide to try some baking recipes while we’re home, and my pinterest boards have been getting a workout. 

This Peeps Spring Bark is a fun project that kids can do while they’re home, plus enjoy a sweet treat when it is completed. There is some parental supervision required, but for the most part kids can help with a majority of the recipe (especially when it comes to decorating).

Spring Bark with PeepsThe setup for this Peeps Spring Bark is pretty simple. It only needs a few ingredients and a microwave!

Spring Bark with Peeps IngredientsWe used orange and turquoise candy melts, however, candy melts come in a variety of colors so it would be easy to let your kid pick their favorite color, or recreate for other holidays using those colors and themed peeps. 

Spring Bark with Peeps IngredientsIt is important to melt the ingredients in small intervals so that they melt evenly and don’t burn. 

Squirting the colored melts and mixing them all together will be an especially fun step for kids.

Spring Bark with PeepsBreaking the pieces is a bit of an art so it might take a few hits on the counter to get it to break. You might also need to use a knife to get the pieces to their final size. 

If your family prefers a different ratio of Oreos to Peeps, that could easily be customized to fit your desires.

All of the ingredients for this can be purchased on Amazon, so even if you are stuck at home, the ingredients can show up at your door.

Kids and adults will love this special treat featuring fun spring colors and the iconic Easter treat of Peeps.

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 3 minutes
Additional Time 40 minutes
Total Time 53 minutes

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt white chocolate in a microwave safe bowl in 20 second intervals, stirring each time, until melted.
  3. Spread onto the parchment paper.
  4. Pour orange and turquoise candy melts into their own plastic sandwich bag.
  5. Melt each, one at a time, in the microwave in 20 second intervals. Squeeze and mush gently each time, until melted
  6. Snip off the end and squeeze out one at a time on top of the white chocolate.
  7. Use a skewer or toothpick to swirl the orange and turquoise together.
  8. Add Oreos, Peeps, and sprinkles. Gently pressing into the melts.
  9. Refrigerate for 30 minutes, or until set.
  10. Take parchment off of cookie sheet and firmly bank against table to break pieces, or use a knife to cut pieces to desired size.

  1. Well this bark is just the cutest! I’m ashamed to admit, I’ve actually never tried a Peeps before. I definitely need to rectify that, abd this bark would be the perfect way to finally try the cute little guys :)
