Brad was in California this week chaperoning the school’s band tour (at Disneyland…yes, I’m a little jealous) and I knew that I needed a good project for the week so that I didn’t end up shopping every evening. A couple years ago I painted our downstairs bathroom two different shades of green but as I paint the rest of the downstairs gray, I realized that I wasn’t a fan of the green anymore. I got some inspiration from Clean and Scentsible to do a stencil on the wall and purchased the same stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils. This is my first excursion into stenciling a wall and was a little nervous about how it would turn out. I figured, if its utterly hideous then I will just paint over it! I forgot to take “before” pictures but here is what you can imagine: 3 of the walls were a sort of mint green and the wall with the door was more of a forest green.
Fortunately it turned out well, although I’m glad that I didn’t start with a larger wall or one that had a bunch of holes such as windows or doors. Since its a small bathroom, I had to take a picture of the reflection in the mirror.
I’m on a turquoise/teal color kick right now too so I was excited when I found these bath items at Savings Direct and this towel at TJ Maxx. I couldn’t find a valance in the proper color so I went to Jo Ann and bought fabric to make my own. Sewing the valance was surprisingly easy.
Here is a closeup of the stencil pattern. I love this shape and am looking forward to putting it in other areas of the house.

Thanks Jen, I think I’ll try stenciling again in my craft room but this time I will try the spray adhesive and have my husband help.
