If you plan on going on any of the water rides that Universal Studios offers, you will definitely need a poncho (the people we saw getting off the rides were SOAKED); why not bring Harry Potter to the rest of the park and have a robe for your poncho?

Many of the rides require you to put all your belongings into a locker (which are free for just long enough to do the ride and gather your belongings); having a lightweight backpack is perfect because it is small enough to throw in the lockers, but still gives you a place to throw your water bottle, sunscreen, battery, and other necessities.
