Fall is almost here and warm drinks are a great way to welcome this new season. Nothing says fall like apples and a spiked apple cider would be a perfect drink for a fall party or evening at home.
Spiked Apple Cider
Just a few ingredients are needed for this recipe:
- Apple Juice (or cider)
- Fireball
- Cinnamon Sticks
- Whole Cloves
Even if you purchase apple cider, I still recommend adding some cinnamon and cloves for getting some more spice flavor.
Add the cider to a sauce pan (or use a crock pot if doing this for a large group). Place the cloves in a tea ball so that you don’t need to fish them out later; then toss it in the juice. Add the cinnamon sticks and then cook to juice mixture on low for a couple hours or until the juice has soaked up the spices. Watch the juice mixture so that it doesn’t boil over, you just want a nice simmer.
Once you are ready to enjoy, put 1-2 ounces of Fireball in a mug and then fill the mug with cider. The fireball gets added at the end because most of the alcohol would cook out if it simmered with the juice and spices for a couple hours and then it would just be extra cinnamon apple cider. Plus adding it at the end allows for each individual to set their strength.

This is a great fancy version of what I drink when I go camping. I use the instant apple cider packets in the microwave when we are in our RV. Thanks for the inspiration that you posted on turn it up Tuesday. I’ll definitely have to try this out over the holidays.
