I remember the first time I had a blood orange. I didn’t know what I had picked up when I bagged up some oranges and was quite surprised when I sat down on the couch and opened it up. Now, each winter I look forward to when Blood Oranges make their debut since they add a fun flavor to this traditional fruit.

This past weekend I was thinking of something to make with these delicious fruits and decided to make a margarita!

A delicious cocktail featuring blood oranges.

Ingredients
  • Juice from 4 Blood Oranges
  • ⅓ cup Lime Juice
  • 2 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 cup Tequila
  • ¼ cup Triple Sec
  • ½ cup Orange Juice
  • 3 cups ice
Instructions
  1. In a blender, combine all ingredients. Blend until smooth (especially the ice). I have a Ninja one (similar) that works awesome. It has 3 blades along the shaft that really breaks up the ice.

This Blood Orange margarita was delicious! Brad was a fan of them as well.
