I remember the first time I had a blood orange. I didn’t know what I had picked up when I bagged up some oranges and was quite surprised when I sat down on the couch and opened it up. Now, each winter I look forward to when Blood Oranges make their debut since they add a fun flavor to this traditional fruit.
This past weekend I was thinking of something to make with these delicious fruits and decided to make a margarita!
Blood Orange Frozen Margarita
Blood Orange Frozen Margarita
A delicious cocktail featuring blood oranges.
Recipe type: Cocktail
- Juice from 4 Blood Oranges
- ⅓ cup Lime Juice
- 2 Tablespoon Sugar
- 1 cup Tequila
- ¼ cup Triple Sec
- ½ cup Orange Juice
- 3 cups ice
- In a blender, combine all ingredients. Blend until smooth (especially the ice). I have a Ninja one (similar) that works awesome. It has 3 blades along the shaft that really breaks up the ice.
This Blood Orange margarita was delicious! Brad was a fan of them as well.
Have you enjoyed some Blood Oranges this winter? What is your favorite way to enjoy them?
I’ve never tried a blood orange before. They sound tasty. I think I saw some in the grocery store the other day. I’ll have to pick up a few.
