Our living room has these weird cubes next to the fireplace. When we first moved in we had no idea what to do with them as they weren’t big enough for our TV but still decently sized. For a while we had some 9-cube storage in the lower one, but updated it a few years ago when we bought a wine fridge.
Last year when we remodeled after our unexpected flood, we flipped our living arrangements so we were hanging out in this living room more than the front room. I wanted to add something a bit more exciting to the front of the wine fridge and decided to add a vinyl “cheers” decal to the front.
Since this decal is simply text, selecting the best font is essential. I used the font “secret garden” as it has alternate left and right characters which add the swirls to both the “c” and “s”. I like how it isn’t completely on a straight line either because that makes applying the decal easier since it isn’t critical to be perfectly straight.
The glass front on our wine cooler is approximately 18″ wide so I sized the decal to be about 15″ wide. This filled the space but still left some leeway on each side.
I love how just a little bit of vinyl can make an appliance a little bit more exciting in the living room. What do you think? Have you decorated an appliance with vinyl before?
