The weather is cooling, time to break out all the jackets for business casual outfits! I’ve enjoyed putting together new outfits with some fun new jackets that I picked up earlier this year, and rediscovering outfits from previous years as well. This fall business casual outfit is a mixture of a couple new items, and some items that have been in my wardrobe for a while. I love the color combination and look forward to wearing it throughout the fall.
Ever since I tore my Achilles in 2012 I haven’t really been able to wear heels. I live in flats, or shorter wedges. I found these Tory Burch flats at Goodwill in New York City when I was there in March. I love how they add a bit of unexpected pattern and color to my business casual outfit.
I used to shop Loft ALL THE TIME (mostly because they had my favorite basic tees), but had somewhat forgotten about them as I did less shopping in store and more online. Well, after checking them out again this past spring, I’ll definitely be back.
I love these pants, for being dress pants they are super comfortable. They are even lined, which is surprising at their price point (I got them on sale for less than $50). I did get them shortened a couple inches since I wanted to wear them with flats, but it was an easy update for my tailor to do. These trousers are the Julie fit, I see similar pants are available, but these exact ones are no longer for sale.
The navy shell that I’m wearing under the jacket is also from Loft (no longer available). I bought it along with a pink one this past spring and it is easy to dress it up with a jacket and trousers, or down with a pair of jeans.
I was super excited about this Maroon jacket when I saw it on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, especially with how often I wear my blue faux-suede jacket from last year. This jacket is super soft, and a great way to tie the outfit together. One of the hard things with jackets is that they can be a bit restricting of my arm movement. Since this jacket is a soft construction, I don’t have any of these issues (which is important for my everyday work).
I got my first Louis Vuitton purse earlier this year. I went back and forth on a few different styles, and finally settled on the Siena bag. It can be either a handbag, or worn as a cross-body (which is what I do most of the time). Fashionphile is an AWESOME spot to shop for gently used and guaranteed authentic designer bags.
I’m looking forward to creating more fall outfits, and definitely see this one being in a standard rotation. What is your favorite business casual outfit piece for fall?
