My mom and I are both fans of thrift store shopping. Many of these items that come from the thrift stores have sticky price stickers that need to be removed before the item can be used. I have a method to easily remove price stickers from these items and it works perfectly.
How To Easily Remove Price Stickers
- Add a drop of dish soap onto a paper towel
- Get the paper towel damp
- Press the damp paper towel over the price tag, making sure that the wet and soapy area covers the entire price sticker
- Leave for 5-10 minutes
- Simply wipe the price tag off
This method works well because the soapy water can soak through the top of the sticker and really go after the adhesive side. Sometimes I have items sitting in the sink to remove the price tags and forget about them. Simply re-wet the paper towel (and add a bit of soap if needed) and the price tag will come right off.
I pick up a lot of dishes to use in blog posts at thrift stores so sometimes I will have multiple price tags to remove. You don’t need a large piece of paper towel for each item, just big enough to cover the sticker.
This method works for price stickers that are on water proof items (glass, metal, plastic, etc). Sometimes the price tags get put onto paper or cardboard, I wouldn’t use this method for that since it requires water.
Hopefully this tip can help save your sanity when it comes to removing price stickers!
