In addition to being the happiest place on earth, Disneyland is also one of the most photogenic places. There are so many great backgrounds and fun facades that are perfect for Instagram, or your family Christmas card. You could easily spend an entire day just going around the park taking photos. Before you head off to the parks on your next vacation, note down these spots (or bookmark this post), so you can make sure to capture them all!
Where to Take Photos at Disneyland
The picturesque spots of Disneyland begin the second you walk into the park. There are fun and colorful facades all along Main Street, and if you go into some of the alcoves, there are many that you can get to without worrying about all the crowds trying to make their way to the rides. As you’re walking into the park, turn right at Starbucks to find this “dentist office”.
Next up on our list is the carousel at the center of Fantasyland. Why not stop by between a couple rides for a picture at this iconic location? Also, how fun are these Dole Whip Ears? I got them for our trip to Orlando in January and was glad to pull them out again for this trip. You can also check out my post for all the details on this Minnie inspired outfit.
The Teacups. Fortunately, you can get a photo with the teacups without being on the ride (it might be a bit difficult to get a good photo with all that spinning). There is a stationary tea cup on the carousel side of the ride, so hop in and strike a pose!
Have you ever spent the day at Disneyland with friends? A couple weeks ago, I did just that. Some friends and I were in LA for a conference, so once it was over we headed to Disneyland for some magical fun. We went around the parks acting like kids, and enjoyed lots of delicious Disney treats. Pixar Fest is also happening now til Labor Day so it was awesome checking out all those fun details as well. If you head over to the blog today, I’m sharing more details about this fun weekend! 📷: @annievovan . . . . . #disneyfamily #disneyland #familytravel #disneyaddict #disneysmmoms #travelingram #disneyparks #disneymagic #disneyfreak #disneypixar #disneypics #disneyside #disneygram #happyplace #makingmemories #disneyphotography #disneypark #californiaadventure #lovethelittlethings #instadisney #disneylandresort #disneygram #ilovedisney #takemetodisney #disneystyle #disneyoutfit #theeverygirl #todayiamwearing #seattleblogger #pnwblogger
Similar to the teacups, there is also a stationary Dumbo perfect for a photo opportunity. Whitney was a good sport and had fun posing inside Dumbo when we visited recently.
Pixie Hollow – This area is so easy to walk by without realizing that it is there. Inside Pixie Hollow is the location to meet Tinkerbell and her friends, but just outside the exit is a fun backdrop of leaves to make you feel like a fairy. Plus, simply turn around and you have the iconic Matterhorn for your next picture opportunity.
Are you planning a vacation to the happiest place on earth? Planning a trip can be overwhelming with all the decisions that need to be made. Picking the dates, making the flight arrangements, and finding the perfect hotel for your stay. Whether you’re heading to Disneyland out west or Walt Disney World on the East coast, you will find lots of timeshares in addition to hotel options. Did you know that you can stay at a timeshare without being an owner? Head over to the blog to learn more on what to expect if you go this route for your family vacation. 📷: @annievovan . . . . . #disneyfamily #disneyland #familytravel #disneyaddict #disneysmmoms #travelingram #disneyparks #disneymagic #disneyfreak #disneypixar #disneypics #disneyside #disneygram #happyplace #makingmemories #disneyphotography #disneypark #californiaadventure #lovethelittlethings #instadisney #disneylandresort #disneygram #ilovedisney #takemetodisney #disneystyle #disneyoutfit #theeverygirl #todayiamwearing #wdwbestdayever #waltdisneyworld
Of course, a day wouldn’t be complete without a picture with the castle. While the straight on shots may be the go-to, head over to the side for another fun angle (plus you are more likely to avoid other people in your photos).
Small World Wall – As you walk past Storybook land Canal boats towards It’s A Small World, look to the left and you will see the Small World Wall. This blue and white wall is filled with iconic shapes found throughout the small world ride.
If you couldn’t tell, we had absolutely ZERO fun at Disneyland. Zip, zilda, zilch. But seriously, a day at the parks can be stressful if you don’t have a plan. Which is why I’m letting you in on some tips about using the MaxPass system to make the most of your day. Even though the parks were busy, with just a bit of planning we were able to get on a bunch of rides throughout the day Check out the link in my profile to get all the details.
In addition to the spots listed above, there are many more throughout the park – the fun houses of Toon Town, the rustic backdrop of Tom Sawyer’s Island, or the futuristic aspects of Tomorrowland. I also highly recommend hiring a photographer for your day at Disneyland, they know how to get amazing shots of the park and can make you feel comfortable posing in the parks. A majority of the photos above were taken by the fantastic Annie Vovan.
