Brad and I are fans of sangria. It is a great beverage to have in the fridge throughout the summer to enjoy the fruits of summer blending nicely with delicious wine. For the fall, I decided to use some apples and pears to create a fall themed sangria.
We had some friends coming over to watch the Seahawks game so it was a great time to try out this recipe. It has a unique flavor but is still delicious.
Sparkling Fall Apple Cider Sangria
- 1 Apple - Sliced
- 1 Pear - Sliced
- 3 Cinnamon Sticks
- 1 Vanilla Pod
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 1 Pint Hard Apple Cider
- 2 Cups Apple Cider
- 1 bottle Prosecco
- Slice the Apples & Pear
- In a pitcher, combine the fruit, spices, and Apple Cider
- Stir
- Store in a fridge for 4 hours, or overnight (you can enjoy it right away, but giving it time for the flavors to develop is best)
- Right before serving, stir in a bottle of Prosecco
You definitely want to wait to add the Prosecco because if you mix it in at the same time as the apple ciders, you will lose all the bubbles by the time you enjoy it.
The flavors of this sangria is quite different than the standard summer fruit sangria. The vanilla and cinnamon blend with the apple cider to give a much more spicy flavor. Everybody enjoyed this fall apple cider sangria and it is something that Brad and I are sure to enjoy more this fall.
Do you have a favorite beverage to enjoy during the fall? I think that this one would be perfect to enjoy while watching football games on TV, or maybe a little something special for the parents before walking the kids around for Trick-Or-Treating. What sort of fall activities do you have planned for the season?

The large slice of apple makes it look so cool. Like two drinks mixed into one.
