Last week, I shared a Dalgona Coffee with a Spiked Orange Mocha twist. In that post, I mentioned that I had a couple other flavors up my sleeve and today’s is perfect for the heat wave that we have coming this weekend: Dalgona Coffee with a coconut rum twist!
It still feels like yesterday was March, I can’t believe that we’re almost to Memorial Day weekend. Summer will be here before we know it, although who knows what summer will actually look like this year.
We’re getting a little peak at summer weather this weekend, so this could be a perfect opportunity to sit out on the deck with a delicious cocktail.
Dalgona Coffee with Coconut Rum
In this recipe, I used Captain Morgan’s Loconut Rum, which is a coconut flavored rum. I’m not sure if this is still available, as I haven’t seen it in the stores recently. Originally, I had gotten the Loconut Rum in order to make a Miami Vice Shot. Any coconut flavored liqueur would work if the Loconut is no longer available.
The spiced rum float is a great flavor addition to the creamy coconut and coffee flavor. It really brings out the tropical aspect of this Dalgona Coffee variety.
One of my main criteria for making cocktails is that they need to be simple to make. Other than the time required to whip the coffee, this is an overall easy recipe to make.
A fun (spiked) twist to the popular Dalgona Coffee. Ring in summer with this unique cocktail. I used a Kitchen Aid mixer with the whip attachment; however you could also use a handheld mixer. Whisking by hand or using a milk frother is another option, but would be a lot more work.Dalgona Coffee With Coconut Rum
